The electrified Addis Ababa Light Railway Transit (AA-LRT) is set to receive some 160MW electric power from four substations which directly receive power from the national grid. Ethiopian Railways Corporation disclosed that the 340km long Addis-Sebeta-Mieso railway will start test rides today.
Part of the Ethio-Djibouti railway, the Addis-Sebeta-Mieso rail had been successfully laid over the past few weeks.
The Corporation’s Communication Services Head Dereje Tefera specified that the commencement of the test will be attended by several high ranking officials.
The project is expected to be completed by October, boosting the country’s import-export fright moving capabilities. Read More
