The Central Committee of the Tigray Peoples’ Liberation Front (TPLF) issued a statement today criticizing Executive Committee of Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) for overly focusing on short term solutions to the country’s economic challenges rather than the long-term remedies.

Hence, it stated that rather than identifying the real problem and search for sustainable measures aligned with developmental state ideology, the Executive Committee has focused on results of the problems and choose a short term solution.

At the completion of its two days extraordinary meeting, it indicated that the central committee accepts the decision of EPRDF Executive Committee regarding the full or partial transfer of large state-owned enterprises and called for deeper discussion for the implementation of the intended.

Acknowledging the necessity and the timeliness of respecting the decision of Ethio-Eritrean boundary commission and the Algiers agreements, the Committee cautioned that it should be considered in accordance with the boundaries that the country shares with other neighboring countries.

The Central Committee also called for EPRDF Executive Committee and  Council meetings to be held as soon as possible to evaluate the developments.
