Long Awaited Road in Bulbula Gets Guardian

The Addis Abeba City Road Authority (AACRA) awarded the road project of the long serving eight kilometre long road at Bole Bulbula after 14 years of repeated requests from residents of the area.

Third Expressway to be constructed in Ethiopia

The Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) is considering only Chinese companies for the construction of the nation’s third expressway, which will extend the Addis-Adama Expressway, with an estimated cost of 12 billion Br it secured from the EX-IM Bank of China.

For the project, the Authority re-announced a non-inclusive tender, only inviting Chinese construction firms. ERA announced the tender on June 1, 2017, in the daily state newspaper, The Ethiopian Herald.

Roads Authority Awards the Most Expensive Road Project

The Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) has signed an agreement with Rama Construction Plc for the construction of the so far most expensive road project at a cost of 69.2 million Br a kilometre.

The road, extending from Azezo-Gonder, covers 12.6 kilometres and will be constructed at a total cost of 871.6 million Br. The project takes the place of the Melka Jebdu – Dire Dawa road projects, which cost the Authority 63.5 million Br per kilometre.
