Selam Bus Bought 12 New toilet-fitted buses at 60 Million Birr

Selam Bus Plc received last week 12 new toilet-fitted buses, which it imported for 60 million Br.

The largest long distance bus transport company in Ethiopia, Selam is planning to sell shares after October, 2015, when it also plans to launch new routes.

The latest buses are the fifth orders for the company, which now has a total of 64 buses including the new ones. These are assembled by Yutong co, a Chinese company, which had delivered all its other buses. The new buses also carry three less passengers than the old buses

Transport Authority Implements Directive to Upgrade Cab Service

The Federal Transport Authority (FTA) has registered 2,700 cab owners in Addis Abeba within two months, since it issued the directive calling cab owners in the city to form share companies and import duty free vehicles that will replace the blue & white taxis.

The authority said the directive is not mandatory, but open for all who want to take part voluntarily.
