Ministry of Finance Bans the Import of Various Items to Ease the Foreign Currency Shortage

Ministry of Finance Prohibits Import of cars, gum, chocolate, jam, tuna, table salt and many other products to ease the shortage of foreign currency. National Bank of Ethiopia has stated that it will punish banks that will open letter of credit (LC) for the import of the prohibited items effective on October 17, 2022 (Tikimt / ጥቅምት 7 ፤ 2015)።
