UPDATE [June 23, 2018] – Girma Kassa, Addis Ababa Police Commissioner Fired and Arrested along with other police officers

A bomb exploded on on Dr Abiy’s support rally in Mesqel Square Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. According to sources and a Video, The prime minster and other high ranking officials were rushed off the stage to safety. It was reported that there were causalities.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) gave a statement after the bomb blast and said that the attack was intentional and was orchestrated to ruin spirit of the rally.
