Addis Ababa City Administration will hold a lottery ceremony to transfer 25,491 condominium house units to registrants under the 40/60 and 20/80 saving scheme. According to the mayor, the administration will transfer houses built under the 40/60 saving scheme for 3rd time while houses built under the 20/80 scheme will be transferred for the 14th time.
The city administration reported that out of the 139,000 houses it had, it has already transferred 96,000 some via lottery, some via administrative decision and the remaining by selecting people using their own criteria.
Out of the 96,000 houses 54,000 house’s keys have already been given to home owners.
Regarding registrants that will be included in this lottery draw, 20/80 registrants who registered on 1997 and have been saving money till February 28, 2022 (የካቲት 21, 2014) will be included while 40/60 registrants who have saved 40% or more till the same date will be included in the lottery draw.
Total number of people that will be included in the lottery draw will be 27,195 for the 20/80 program and 52,599 for the 40/60 program. As has been the case for the past lottery draws, ‘Displaced Farmers’ will also be included in the current lottery draw.
Ever since the condominium program started 17 years ago, only 300,000 have been built and transferred to home owners.
